Top 5 People I Can't Stand

Hi everybody. Happy Labor Day Weekend. Thought I'd do a light-hearted post for this weekend.

About dislike. About loathing.

I thought I'd let you all know what I thought of 5 people who...(cue ominous-sounding music):

I Very, Very Strongly Dislike: (in no order of importance)

(I don't know, I just picked these people somewhat spontaneously. The parameters are: just thinking of these people brings a feeling of revulsion. I don't know...maybe I would pick 2-3 different people at another time...maybe this is dumb...What do you people think of these particular people?)

1. Dennis Miller:

I kinda liked Dennis Miller when he was on SNL. He did the news well and his wit and acerbic observations were great for that segment.

Now that he has become a right wing hack, shreddingradio.com/miller.html he's not funny. He claims that 9-11 made him the way he is, but somehow the shtick he does isn't funny when he just re-hashes FOX News segments.

He's just not funny at all anymore. entertainment/comedy/random.html
From the scraggly, Ted Bundy beard:
to the annoying way he continually laughs at his own supposed brilliance, I dubs thee dumbass.

2. Dr. Laura Schlessinger:

Ughh! What can I say about this cold cold woman? Why anyone would want to call and ask for this ice princess' advice is beyond me. The way she addresses those who call in to her show with such venom and disdain is at once pathetic and cruel.

3. James Dobson:

I really can' t stand "Dr" James Dobson. Everyone who doesn't believe like him is considered evil. With the buffoon we have for our President, its no wonder jokers like Dobson have such influence in our government. Its also a shame. http://www.pfaw.org/pfaw/general/default.aspx?oid=4257 His high-pitched whine isn't heard often thankfully, but when it is, it can cause some health issues. Here is his extreme view of stem cell research, in which you get a chance to hear that awful whine. mediamatters.org/items/200508030007

4. Two-way tie-Joe Rogan and Carlos Mencia:

I realize that most people seem to dislike Carlos Mencia more than Joe Rogaine. Yes, there does seem to be a pattern of joke thievery with Carlos. But then again, I would think all comedians take a little from each other now and then. They want to go for commonalities within people and that's where the sameness and thus similarities in the material they use comes in. What I don't like about Carlos is his angry, vicious humor, the mean-spirited racial jokes, and also the imitating of people with special needs are way over the top for me.

Joe Rogaine is just so full of himself that in almost every photo of him on the Internet, he's got that stupid smug smile on his face with the one eyebrow raised. He tries to be a tough guy, but just comes off like he's trying to ingratiate himself with real tough guys. Here he is acting (overreacting I think) tough with a lady who took him to task for talking down to women: youtube.com/watch?v=3lXUd7VxuSA

5. Ted Nugent:

Ted Nugent. What a guy, huh? Makes all sorts of veiled threats towards Demos and then claims that his comments were just jokes. Come on! (nudge nudge) That shit is funny! Its just a rock and roll show. I don't think he should be arrested or anything for what he said during those shows, but if the shoe was on the other foot, and a band said something about Bush and Co., you know he would be asking to be in firing squad. This guy is living his military dreams out now since it seems he got a pass during the Vietnam War www.crooksandliars.com/2007/08/27/ted-nugent-draft-dodging-coward/.

He claims the title of his new album, Love Grenade http://idolator.com/tunes/art?/ted-nugent-lobs-a-bomb-in-the-worst-album-cover-of-the-year-race-292704.php is a battle cry against breast cancer, but knowing this nut, its just a way to use the military angle to sell his records.

So there it is. The list. What do you think?

A few vids, a few comics, and a few comedians

Ted Nugent is appearing in ABQ tonight. Just saw what the jerk said at a recent concert in Anaheim from American Scot http://americanscot.blogspot.com/2007/08/maybe-hell-accidentally-shoot-himself.html. You know, as I was growing up, learning how to play guitar, I kinda liked Nugent. He was (and I guess still is) a pretty good guitarist. Somewhere along the line though, he transformed into this raging, crap-spewer that I can't stand. I will not listen to his music because of his extreme views on most everything. Even the old stuff. So, in honor of Nutcase Nugent live in concert here in my own town, here is a little cartoon. We can only dream...thanks, American Scot for the idea!

Speaking of rock and roll, I was listening to some old Sabbath and thought of this clip that has been around for a while but, I thought I'd put it on in commemoration of good ol' rock and roll!

Another speaking of rock and roll clip-here's the legendary Bill Hicks talking about today's state of rock and roll. I was going to post Bill's infamous Rush Limbaugh audio clip, but maybe some other time. It's pretty hardcore. Gotta think about that one!

Get on all fours

I got tagged by Chris of Some Guy's Blog . I have really, really enjoyed his blog so far, and I just discovered it recently! Good stuff!

I guess for this tag, I am supposed to list things in groups of four. Don't know who might read this, since its seems a little slow around here. (see my last post). Guess I am just feeling a little sorry for myself. Boo hoo!

Oh well here goes:

Four jobs I have had or currently have in my life:

1. Printed Circuit Board fabricator-worked at this place for four years, starting almost right after high school. I sanded the copper coating on the boards down smooth and then dunked them in various cancer-causing chemicals. I also did riveting of belts that had sensors on them so that they could be used for training during "war game training." This technology firm was probably one of the worst of the far-right firms in the '80s i had heard of. Two examples of their "far-rightiness": they were one of the few tech firms that actually wanted to and desired doing business with South Africa at the time of Apartheid. They seemed to be proud of this. (we would have monthly meetings and the general manager mentioned that they company would not be swayed by massive public opinion. They also dumped a horrid mix of chemicals (instead of doing disposal the legal and probably to them expensive way) into a large pit and the broth of deadly chemicals (these guys also refused to stop using trichlorethylene a known carcinogen even though other chemicals would have done the job) seeped into the groundwater. They were found out and had to clean it all up as per EPA guidelines. Needless to say, I was happy to leave that company and go off to the local university!

2. Dishwasher at a Mexican restaurant-yuck! Not too good-its amazing what people leave on their plate! We would scrape all that leftover crap off into a big barrel and then this guy would come every week or so to take the barrels to feed his pigs!

3. Waiter at a Mexican restaurant-not too bad-the tips were pretty good when I was earning money for tuition!

4. Preschool teacher for developmentally delayed children

Four Countries I have been to:

1. None other than Mexico-and that was Juarez!

2.

3.

4.

Four places I would rather be right now:

1. Bahamas-enjoying the weather-its hot where we live, but I think it would be a nicer hot over there

2. Canada-actually seeing some of those cool mountain vistas would be great right now!

3. Italy-I dunno-just thought it'd be cool to go there!

4. Spain-My cousin and his wife who's from there-live there and it would be great to visit them!

Four foods I like to eat:

1. Pizza-the thin crust-fancy schmancy kind and the New York style both!

2. New Mexican food-not Mexican food but this sub-type! It really is different!

3. Greek food-we have this neat little Greek diner near the University and the food is so good!

4. Salmon

Four personal heroes-past or present:

1. MLK-I know people always say Martin Luther King, when asked to name a hero, but he really is a hero to me. The fact that he used (and continued to use) non-violent protest even when those who were against him were beating him, berating him...that's someone to look up to.

2. My dad-he had a great knowledge of many things-science, nature, math, philosophy, art...the list goes on and on. I miss having that advice and hearing his answers to my questions about life.

4. I know this is a group and not an individual, but any person in the military or politics who changes their lives, takes a different path and risks it all for the greater good. Ron Kovic comes to mind. Scott Ritter is another. These guys http://www.unitedforpeace.org/article.php?id=3732 individuals or as a group are very brave.

Four books I have read or are currently reading:

1. Fair and Balanced My Ass-by the same guys who brought us Sweet Jesus I Hate Bill O'Reilly, Joseph Minton Amann and Tom Breuer.

2. A+ Certification All-In-One Exam Guide-Sixth Edition-(I'm studying to try and become a PC Technician-I just need to pass one more exam!

3. Republican Like Me: Infiltrating Red-State, White-Ass, and Blue-Suit America - hilarious account of a guy who went "undercover" infiltrating various right wing groups and his accounts of the kinds of banter between him and the individuals involved.

4. Extra Nutty! Even More Letters From a Nut! Ted Nancy-if you haven't seen this -you should! This guy send crazy letters to companies with these outlandish requests and statements, and the company reps (that actually write back) send these often incredulous-sounding letters back to him! Just the fact that he gets a response to his inane letters is amazing!

Four Fellow Bloggers I Would Like to Tag Now :

3. John at http://foryourentertainment.blogspot.com/
4. Yngwie at http://funnycleanvideos.info/

Comics and comedy for the taking

Here are some dumb comics for you to enjoy. I don't know how I thought of the clown thing. Weird.

Don Asmussen is syndicated cartoonist out of the San Francisco Chronicle. I like the "Oniony" style he uses! We usually don't get to see our city's newspaper that features this cartoonist's unique work. (we have a subscription to the city's crappier, more right-wing paper-we're thinking of changing!) Anyway, I think he does some great, funny stuff.
Here's a few of his latest cartoons:

Some classic comedy with Flip Wilson, from the Flip Wilson Show. I remember staying up as a kid to watch the show with my parents. We loved it! He was funny guy!

Flip with Leonard Nimoy!

Who could forget Geraldine. I knew a Geraldine in high school, but she sure didn't act like this Geraldine!

Try to caption this! Hell, I couldn't think of anything! Maybe you can!

Hey kids! Can you caption this 'toon for me? I couldn't! Please caption by noting which panel 1-3, you are giving dialogue for. (Panel 1: blah blah blah Panel 2: blah blah blah, etc) I am anxious to see what you crazy people will write! Oh, yeah, I got stuck on the clown thing. I don't know, I think clowns can be funny. Or kinda scary too. I guess it depends on the clown's personality.
This isn't a contest, but I would like to see how many captions there could be for this cartoon! Thanks, in advance!

Finally-some new material!

Was looking for some interesting stuff and came across this http://www.myspace.com/davisccii link recently. Hmmmmmm.

This is just surreal! And kind of funny too.

Here's the Flight of the Conchords: I had seen a clip of these guys a while back and meant to put it on. Here are a couple of their clips. I have always liked the combination of music and humor in a comedy act, ever since I was a wee lad watching the Smothers Brothers Show, and other like them.

A song about "sexy time"

Racist Dragon!?

I usually don't like much country music, but this guy - Rodney Carrington-(speaking of musician-comedians) is kinda funny. Ahh...the combination of a purty good sanger croonin' tunes 'bout breasts, farts and other lewd thangs is funny when compared to how "real" country artists sing often inadvertently hilarious songs so seriously! Rodney Carrington-Today's the Day My Wife Met My Girlfriend:

I had seen this group-ImprovEverywhere at http://www.improveverywhere.com/ quite a while back and finally decided to put clip here. ImprovEverywhere is this cool New York City group of street improv comedy people. They go around freaking people out and making them laugh in various public places in NYC.

Having a six year-old son with red hair, this clip resonated with me! Justice for all redheads!

The zombies are a serious threat to homeland security!
