New Music News and Other Crap

While Dick Cheney has been hitting the talk show circuit in earnest,he also has been trying something new lately-music! Yes, Dick has decided, what the heck-he was gonna go for it, and try doing a little rapping. He always knew he had it in him.
This is the front and back of his debut offering-"Jus' Dickin' Around"

I have always liked the show Just Shoot Me. We even got a DVD of the series a few years back. One of my favorite characters was Kevin, played by Brian Posehn. The guy was born for comedy-just look at him! Funny delivery, voice, looks-you can't go wrong with that! I hadn't realized he was such a funny standup comedian. (NSFW)

Musical Comedians

I don't know why, but even though I had always wanted to post comedian Sean Cullen's Food of Your Choice thing a long time ago-I never got around to it. I like this guy's comedy. He's got a funny-looking face-great for making all those silly facial expressions, the funny voice, the music, the weirdness-all the things I enjoy in comedy. I don't know why, but for some reason he reminds me of a character from Ren and Stimpy!

Food of Your Choice: I remember a version of this he did that included a reference to Bill Cosby's pudding. This version is puddingless, but still kinda funny.

One of my all-time favorite comedians is a great guitarist, and incorporates that great playing into his hilarious progressive songs!

Too Weird!!

Hey! My wife is still selling her jewelry at both http://lucindascharms.etsy.com/ and her other Etsy shop at http://www.lavendermoonjewelry.etsy.com/.
In addition, she now has another shop at http://lavendermoonjewelry.artfire.com/ and http://lucindascharms.artfire.com. Please stop by. She's got great prices on some great pieces that she has designed and fashioned herself!

Even with all the stupid copyright claims on Youtube clips, poking around YT can result in finding some weird, crazy s@$#!

I found these jazzed up Van Halen/David Lee Roth clips when was looking for the "regular" acapella versions I had seen/heard a while back.

And speaking of rock music and such...I found this "spoof" of the Geraldo Rivera special on the Devil Worship/Metal music. (I know, I know. I get stuck on a theme sometimes-since the last post) This guy is hilarious!

...and another clip about satanic backward masking...funny stuff! A British humorist-Chris Morris is behind this one!

I'd like to find more clips of the satanist guy and Mr. Morris. My kind of humor, and I hope you like this stuff too!

Like the birds singing in the trees-if they were miniature buzzsaw birds!

Sorry to sound culturally insensitive, but this is just not enjoyable music! I actually like hearing Asian music, but this-no. I mean, they seem to be trying to mimic American pop anyway-and not very well!
The girl's singing is...well like a mosquito buzzing in your ear, you can't get it-you try and try, but it keeps buzzing and buzzing, and... then... you click off the video. You have to! I dared my wife to watch for more than a minute. She couldn't!
Be sure to check out one (or two) of the funniest YT comments I have ever seen for this video below the clip!

Comedy for the beginning of the end

Married to the Sea Married To The Sea: "The Champagne of Comics" is a great comic-just ask Anne Altman Two Can Anne who has posted lots of MTTS, done by Natalie and Drew Dee. On the MTTS site, they also have other funny stuff, including Superpoop Superpoop which are real photos-hilariously captioned! Here's a couple (or three) of Superpoop. That didn't come out well! Hey! That didn't come out so well eith...aww forget it-here
they are:

I have always liked Demetri Martin's comedy. Here, in this clip (audio only-someone put pictures to the jokes-check out this clip's "more info" on YT) Martin does his usual, unique, observational humor while playing his guitar.

Some funny motherf&%*@!s!

I have been wanting to put up some clips from this guy for a long time. I like Kat Williams' comedy a lot! He is raw as hell, but there is a undercurrent of thinking about being a better person amidst all the cussing and n-words! From Wikipedia: As a guest on The Tonight Show in February 2007, he spoke about the importance of adopting from foster care, stating "...he didn’t have to go to Africa to do it. Amazingly enough, there are needy kids right down the street."

I just read that he recently had been asked by some family members to seek mental evaluation due to some erratic behavior. "Comedian Katt Williams hospitalized in SumterI guess he is now saying that a December 31 appearance with Steve Harvey will be his last stand up. I really hope he gets better soon, whether it is stress, or family issues, I hope he can work it out-he's one funny guy!

And, kinda related...

God, give me more horrible Christian music!

Did you know that the "renewed mind" is the key? Now you do:*(better watch it while you can! The other clip of this I had posted was taken off YT by The Way International for copyright infringement!)

Most of you have seen this clip-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-NOZU2iPA8 Son Seed-singing Jesus is a Friend of Mine. This is a funny parody (like if the original wasn't already a parody of itself!) of that song.

Music stuff

I enjoy checking out guitar clips on YT and one of my favorite people to check out is Justin Sandercoe: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C007F52A4794430C Here's his website, in which there's a link to his blog: Free guitar lessons - justinguitar.com He's a cool London-based guy-I like the way he describes the lessons and he's just seems like a guy you'd have a beer with while jamming some blues songs!

Recently, I was on his channel and came across some odd comments to a video he did about a finger dexterity exercise. There is one comment that is at once a little comical and maybe a little touching. (The one about hating God) I like what the other guy ends up suggesting!

I don't know how anyone can listen Don Imus for too long. Not only can he say some racist crap once in a while, but, that voice! It sounds like he's chewing on frogs while trying to speak! It kinda reminded me of that voice Billy Gibbons uses on La Grange-you know- that "heah heah heah heah" thing.

Odds and Ends

I found a couple of these "literal" videos that are "resung" by Dustin Mclean. This is a video of a popular song with lyrics that are really happening in the video! What?! You say? Check it out and you'll see! This redone video version of Tears For Fears' Head Over Heels will literally make you laugh!

Here's another redone by Dustin McClean-A-ha's Take on Me. I never really liked this song! It was one of those songs that stuck in your brain and you couldn't get it out!

I know, I know, our long national nightmare is over-(I think!) but here is a blast from the "past"! Sarah Palin is so dumb...

Do the Wall Street Shuffle!

A perfect song to describe what happened to our economy! Too much greed, and too much deregulation of that greed! One of my favorite guitar songs-The Wallstreet Shuffle by 10CC. You can download it, or check it out here:

Before we knew that Barack was coming to ABQ, we had gotten tickets to go see Gordon Lightfoot. I know some of you may laugh, but I think he was/is? a pretty good guitarist/songwriter. Besides, he has been sick lately and this may be his last concert tour. Well, we went to the concert. Poor Gordon! Geez! He just isn't the same. I told my wife/relatives who went with us-if I could just put out of my mind that this guy was Gordon Lightfoot, I could take it. His songs that I didn't know were ok, but the familiar ones were just not the same. Anyway, later, after the concert we went to the local Flying Star to get a late snack, and heard from people who had been to the Obama rally that there were approximately 60K!! In the paper this AM, it said 45K, but our paper is like Fox News-print version! The news of the great turnout in this city/state that was supposed to be a big questionmark for Obama is great! McCain had a rally also in ABQ yesterday in the AM. Supposedly 1100 turned out for that!

Genre benders, exploding stomachs, and sniffing model airplane glue. In that order

I have noticed that there is a lot of "crossover" in some very disparate forms of music lately! The genre-switching is new and interesting! We probably haven't seen these kinds of musical twists since Run-DMC and Aerosmith melded! Wow! Take a look at these new releases from both RnB crooner T.Z. and Death Metal dudes Maggot Infested Brain:

Some Oldies but Goodies... and maybe you hadn't seenies?

Back in June 2007 when I first started out on this blog experience, I had really wanted to start posting some of these hilarious cartoons I had seen on this really cool site called Camp Chaos Camp Chaos . When the time came around when I wanted to post them, the site was down, undergoing changes or something, and if I remember correctly, they had taken a few of the best 'toons down!

They had these 'toons drawn, written and animated by Bob Cesca, (who, by the way has a cool blog: Bob Cesca's Goddamn Awesome Blog! Go!) about the Metallica vs Napster controversy. (see: About Camp Chaos) Metallica-especially bandmembers Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield got ripped for their stance against Napster music downloading, and I, being a proponent of downloading (not with Napster specifically, but just the premise of the whole thing-ultra-rich rockstars complaining about a few high school and college kids downloading some of their stuff for free) was happy about that. I didn't like Metallica then at all so those clips were all the more funny. Those cartoons were probably some of the funniest shit I had ever seen! In fact, I don't know if I have seen many 'toons that funny since. You have to know who Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield are, their personas, and how they speak to really get it, although with the dialogue and the visuals alone, it's still pretty funny. Lar's eyes are crazy! You have to see the way those eyes and the way they move around, and those great voices!

I also hadn't been able to find this really funny Toby Keith clip, but I found that one too! See way down below! I think that clip has run into some trouble from either Toby Keith's legal team or maybe Cesca felt it was a little too inflammatory (for post-9/11 feelings) at the time-either way, believe me-that clip is hard to find!

Guess what!? I found some of those cartoons that were the funniest! Here are a few of them! I am posting a Lars Ulrich interview so you can get a "feel" for his mannerisms!

Trying to cover all the bases...

Seems like people coming to this blog are looking for SNL stuff, music stuff and maybe the hot sweaty photos of Ashanti or just plain hot photos of America Ferrara! Well, here is a funny clip from SNL alum Dana Carvey that's about music-that's two out 4-50%!

Carvey gives some observations about guitar players, and music!

WTF?! Is this one of them there "other movies" or what!? Those girl sounds are nasty-sounding!

http://view.break.com/575179 - Watch more free videos

I love Keith Olberman, but this little parody is just too funny!

*update: I found that Viacom had the Dave Chapelle black KKK guy/white supremacist videos taken down-but I found another link Hey kids! Make your own damn comics! so that you can laugh-I always have liked Chapelle's racial humor-makes you think!
I also fixed the Celebrity Deathmatch link (I had a funny Stephen King vs JK Rowlings-but it got deleted) I now have a funny Mike Myers vs Dana Carvey match that's pretty good There will be blood and crap like that Hope you enjoy those links!

What a Rush!

Whew! Have I been having fun! I discovered making movies with Windows Movie Maker! Fun! I have never uploaded a clip to Youtube before! Now I plan on doing that once in a while! I plan on making some guitar stuff and maybe an occasional thing for this blog!

Found this on the 'net. (Don't watch this if you love Rush Limbaugh!) "He's a Nazi" with music by "The Invisible Man " (aka. R.P.K.). Damn if this guy sounds just like Rush!
HE'S A NAZI.

I also made my own clip for the song. The other one's better than mine, but I think I did an ok job. Do you like it? Is it too strong? I don't know...Rush has a long, long litany of racist, cruel, hypocritical, mean-spirited crap (ever heard those songs on his site?) that he has been able to spew to a wide audience for a very long time. Too long! He's kinda due, you know?

More YT music stuff!

* Sorry about that last War and Peace-sized last post! I promise that I won't do a post that long anymore! I had a **&^%$$'n hell of a time getting that thing to post too! I had trouble with the html tags and that caused my blog layout to change! I could not figure out what was wrong! You know what? It ended up being a Fox News video's code I embedded! Those guys are out to get me since I was making fun of 'em!

Anyway, I was perusing the YT files looking for a clips about playing some acoustic Zep songs (Going to California; Bron-Y-Aur) and came across this interesting clip for the song Going to California and some (more) funny clips and comments to go with it. I am not going to give the link for this guy-I know that you can find it anyway but give him a break ok? I know that you will probably think of his talents in a certain way, but come on- The poor guy-it takes some guts to go and sing your damn heart out on a clip all for people to leave nothing but scathing comments for it!

Musical musings on life and such

Anybody that has read this blog knows that I love to check out YouTube guitar clips so I can learn songs or just hear a favorite band or artist. I really liked the The Knack-especially the guitar work in their stuff and so recently I took a look at some clips of My Sharona. Of course, there are the "Related Videos" on the side, so I decide to click on this one clip that looked interesting. Well, this clip is very interesting. In it, this group is playing a cover of the song, and the camera, strategically placed to capture the band in all its rock and roll glory, instead captures some dimwit making funny faces, trying to dance (I guess I shouldn't talk!) and speaking very animatedly at some other person who is off-camera. The "guy in the corner video" (on YouTube) has a lot of funny comments!

In checking out video clips of some songs I like to play on guitar, I came across this clip of the band Kix doing Blow My Fuse. Now, heavy metal videos are some of the worst videos ever made-absolutely horrible acting, pretentious, super corny, and utterly ridiculous, but I don't mind "performance" type videos. (Hey-how am I gonna learn those licks if I can't see the person playing them, right?) The original Kix video of them performing this song is good-by heavy metal band standards-I think. There was another version put out by what can only be called an "imposter" Kix band. This clip is so bad, so ridiculous, and so inadvertently(?*) funny I had to put it on! You have to see both clips to understand. The first is the "real" Kix, the second is by the Spinal Tap-ish Kix. I love the imposter band's singer's facial expressions-like he just smelled the least-wiped ass ever, and his rather substantial belly! What's weird about this is that I have researched this (yes I actually have looked into this!) and can't find anything about this pressing matter. How is this imposter band able to use the real song; the video is actually labelled "Kix" and its directed by one "Brad Feig"-who I have not been able to find any information on at all! * This second video has to be a gag video-look at the guitarist's hair! That singer's face! Who knows!? At least this version is funny as hell!

"Real" Kix-Blow My Fuse:

"Imposter" Kix

Was listening to the "70's" XM channel on the way home from dinner tonight and heard "You and I" by Rick James. Made me think of that funny skit from the Dave Chapelle Show where Charlie Murphy-Eddie's (funnier?) brother-reminisces about meeting Rick James backstage. One of Dave and Charlie's funnier skits-I think.
*Update-the YT clip I had posted here was taken off. I found a link to another version of this that actually has all 3 episodes of the "I'm Rick James, bitch!" series from the Dave Chappelle Show. All are pretty damn funny. I am now glad I found a link to this better clip!

Funny Video - Dave Chapelle - I'm Rick James Bitch

*Update-I recently (a bit late I guess-it ocurred in 2-08) found out that YouTube had taken the famous guitarist comedy shred videos authored by "St Sanders" (otherwise known as Santeri Ojala) down due to the parodied guitarist's claims of copyright infringement. Ludicrous. They were/are a parody! Get a life!
I put up a link from my original posts to Wired where the clips can still be seen. http://c3fun.blogspot.com/2007/11/skink-and-shred.html

Funny stories

I have always loved the music of Todd Snider. Todd Snider - The Official Website He always writes songs from the working person's perspective. He has a lot of good, powerful songs about current social issues. I like his musical style also-a mix of country, blues and folk. He also has a great sense of humor in his songs. I was checking out some of his stuff on YT and found these-two great, funny stories from a very good songwriter and storyteller.

I have neglected to post some of this guy's clips. Lewis Black is funny as hell! I like his stuff! I sometimes don't like the angry, screaming comedians as much as I do as people like Jim Gaffigan, Mitch Hedberg, etc, but Black's thing is he's pissed! And he's fucking pissed! Pissed at all the BS we are going through. I can identify with him and his anger, so that's why I like him so much!
