Hot, sweaty comedy

In looking at my Sitemeter readings, I have noticed that many people click on this link:
http://c3fun.blogspot.com/2008_06_15_archive.html
. In fact, this link is the most popular, and has been for months. It's probably because this post has a link to a blog that has lots of photos of celebrities sweating. Yeah, that's it.
What, are you kidding me!? Are you f'n nuts!? It's because of those hot, sweaty photos of Ashanti. Yeah, tell you what, I have clicked on that link "just to check if there is any comments"-a lot!
Seeing this clip from Lev Yilmaz' Tales of Mere Existence made me think of that old post!

I thought this guy (Jimmy Carr) was funny on The Tonight Show.

*I added The Good Kentuckian to my blog links. I mentioned TGK, and Liberals Must Die a while back http://c3fun.blogspot.com/2009/04/too-busy-to-do-much-but-these-are-great.html . This is a great blog folks. There is, apparently, a gentleman angry at the authors of this blog! This person-"Jay" wrote: "you should be ashamed to call yourself Christians, Americans, or Kentuckians, none of these three groups want people like you." He didn't get it. he started his own "The Real Good Kentuckian" lol! TGK is sarcasm, parody-buddy! Oh well- check it out! Very, very funny-irreverent comedy.

Some Oldies but Goodies... and maybe you hadn't seenies?

Back in June 2007 when I first started out on this blog experience, I had really wanted to start posting some of these hilarious cartoons I had seen on this really cool site called Camp Chaos Camp Chaos . When the time came around when I wanted to post them, the site was down, undergoing changes or something, and if I remember correctly, they had taken a few of the best 'toons down!

They had these 'toons drawn, written and animated by Bob Cesca, (who, by the way has a cool blog: Bob Cesca's Goddamn Awesome Blog! Go!) about the Metallica vs Napster controversy. (see: About Camp Chaos) Metallica-especially bandmembers Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield got ripped for their stance against Napster music downloading, and I, being a proponent of downloading (not with Napster specifically, but just the premise of the whole thing-ultra-rich rockstars complaining about a few high school and college kids downloading some of their stuff for free) was happy about that. I didn't like Metallica then at all so those clips were all the more funny. Those cartoons were probably some of the funniest shit I had ever seen! In fact, I don't know if I have seen many 'toons that funny since. You have to know who Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield are, their personas, and how they speak to really get it, although with the dialogue and the visuals alone, it's still pretty funny. Lar's eyes are crazy! You have to see the way those eyes and the way they move around, and those great voices!

I also hadn't been able to find this really funny Toby Keith clip, but I found that one too! See way down below! I think that clip has run into some trouble from either Toby Keith's legal team or maybe Cesca felt it was a little too inflammatory (for post-9/11 feelings) at the time-either way, believe me-that clip is hard to find!

Guess what!? I found some of those cartoons that were the funniest! Here are a few of them! I am posting a Lars Ulrich interview so you can get a "feel" for his mannerisms!

GYWO-animated!

I've always liked Get Your War On by David Rees. I just found this-a few GYWO strips that are animated! Cool! It is kind of neat to see it all live action and %#@&!

Too late for love?

I know. Valentines Day was way back in February, but I just found some clips that deal with love and relationships in a pretty humorous fashion. Besides, we should not think about that special someone only one month a year! Especially with these two clips! They kind of remind me of some clips I posted quite a while back by Lev Yilmaz from his Tales of Mere Existence series Tales of Mere... and maybe some of the stuff by Don Hertzfeldt I feel sooo Rejected! , (although certainly not as dark and violent as his thoughts on relationships!).

Anyway, I love this sort of dark, cynical, but funny animation! I found this first clip My First Crush on my wife's Etsy site. (shameless plug: my wife is selling her jewelry on her site http://www.lavendermoonjewelry.etsy.com/ -check it out, and my sis in-law is also selling her rather unique purses there too!)

My First Crush created by filmmaker Julia Pott, is actually not a rolling on the floor hilarious clip, but a sometimes tender, touching little film, acted out by funny animal characters, of real people's crushes, based upon interviews. More info: Julia Pott has got a crush on animation

This next clip is something I saw on blogmate Matthew Caverhill's blog, Culture Kills...wait, i mean cutlery. I saw I Guess You'll Do and thought "This is perfect!" Thanks Matthew! It'll fit alongside the other clip! This one is more cynical. It's narrated by a woman, but obviously from a dude's perspective and it's more a statement about what guys think about marriage. "Ehem...uhh...not all guys, honey!" Slap!

Saturday Night Live bright spots/assorted mish-mash

Happy Saturday! Hope you all have had a great start to the weekend!
For this week's posts, I would like to focus on Saturday Night Live. I just came across a fairly recent clip from the show, the "Penelope" skit, and thought it was pretty funny.(I am posting a link to both of the Penelope clips below)
I, like many other people have lost interest in SNL over the years. I don't stay up to watch it anymore, even with a few bright spots like Will Ferrell and some of the female comics like Kristin Whig (who does the Penelope skits) Maya Rudolph, and Amy Poehler, that have seemed to invigorate the show in recent years. I remember as a teenager staying up late to watch the show and seeing Eddie Murphy, John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd, and John Belushi, etc. make me laugh my head off! I think part of the problem with the show in the later years, was that they would draw out some of these skits each week so that they were not funny after the 10th time. I hope they don't do more "Penelope" skits. That sketch isn't thick enough to draw out much more than 2 -3 times.

"Penelope" (*I updated this link-The others were taken down-I guess NBC is cracking down because of the copyright issues, so laugh while you can at this remaining "copy"

I thought Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler were hilarious in this satire about America's Next Top Model show!

David Blaine Street Magic parody Part 2:

I have always loved Robert Smigel's TV Funhouse animations: Here is one that parodies the Dora cartoons! (the humor is lost if you haven't sat down with your little ones when they are watching Dora)

Speaking of Robert Smigel, i have been wanting to post some Triumph clips! Next time i post i will have some!

Here is the Riverdance Rap:

Man, its hard to believe that people were pitching cigarettes as healthy back in the day!

I feel sooo Rejected!

I remember seeing this next clip a long, long time ago. It was one of the first clips i had ever seen. Its called Rejected by Don Hertzfeldt, and it is one of the most bizarre, and one of the most violent animated clips i have ever seen. It makes you wonder each time you see it what the hell was Mr. Hertzfeldt on when he dreamed this stuff up!? I guess i am on an animation kick after posting those Tales of Mere Existence clips. Well, here goes. Its violent. Kids shouldn't watch it. And its weird! That being said, it is (very) darkly funny...in spots! The dancing whatever they are called are funny and the one who talks is funny. Until, well, I will let you discover that.

The next clip is a tale of some good-hearted animal lovers and an out of control cat. They had good intentions. Just not good results! Ouch!

Jim Carrey as Fire Marshall Bill and Tales of Mere Existence-sounds like a movie!

Ok, Ok! Maybe this is a little too much Jim Carrey, but i thought you guys might like to see this classic-JC as Fire Marshall Bill. I always thought JC's humor translated better with sketch comedy rather than in his movies.

Here are a couple of clips from Lev Yilmaz ("Tales of Mere Existence") that feature his monotone narration and really simple and evocative line drawing comics. Its the kind of dark humor I love!
"How To Break Up"

"Procrastination"
