A tree! A tree! (have to say that a few times to let it all sink in!)
There was a security camera photo of the robber with leafy boughs and branches duct-taped around his chest and head area. A local police sergeant was quoted as saying that the robber "...really went out on a limb" (!)
Someone recognized the pinehead from the security photo and James Coldwell, 49, was arrested a short time later. Guess he robbed the wrong branch-get it!? The wrong...uhh oh well!
You can really have fun with this one! Wonder if after some time in jail, he might turn over a new leaf? I might just be barking up the wrong tree here. Ok. I'll stop, but here are some comics about Mr. Sprucehead!
Hey everyone! Hope your weekend is going well! I came across this clip a couple of years ago and thought it was pretty funny, especially if you have seen the Dateline To Catch A Predator series. Hey, you might have seen it also before, but what the heck see it again! The guy in the Primate parody has Chris Hansen's voice, tone and expression down! Enjoy!
While checking out some clips relating to TCAP, I came across this one. Kinda funny too, and an interesting premise. How do they find the (supposedly?!) underage actors for the set up scenes for the TCAP series?
Ha ha! Conan O'Brien is pretty funny!
Ok, enough of that! I'm feelin' kinda weird. Need some weird comedy. Here's some weird, funny comedians. The first is Steven Wright
Then next comedian is Mitch Hedberg. RIP. I came across this guy several years ago. When I first saw him, it may have been on Letterman or Conan and I thought he was blind! He just came across that way with the way he hardly looked at the crowd-he mostly looked down at the floor (actually you couldn't tell with those dark glasses!)He had a great"stoner"-like delivery and like Steven Wright he had material that makes you think. He's sorely missed.
Another Mitch clip
Zach Galifianakis is nuts! And he's funny too!
Aww, what the hell! Here are two more-just to show: Zach Galifianakis is nuts!
American Scot at http://americanscot.blogspot.com/ tagged me to write a post about 5 things I do to stay positive. This all comes from High Vibes at http://www.optimistlab.com/. I've never done this before man...! ( i feel like Cheech Marin in that one movie!) anyway... Here are 5 of the ways I keep myself positive:
1. I like to listen to music-all kinds of music, but when I am down, I like to listen to "heavy" music. I know that sounds like an oxymoron-that heavy music like Iron Maiden or the Scorpions would get me feeling more positive again, but I think it is more like coffee with a child who has ADHD! The coffee is a stimulant that makes the kid with ADHD calmer-with me the heavy music makes me chill and calm down a little. You would think soft, or happy music would cheer me up-no! Weird!
2. If I am down, I like to go for a long drive. Possibly to a mountainous area or in the countryside. That usually gets me feeling more positive, and clears my thoughts.
3. I talk things over with a family member-my wife, my son, my mom etc. When you have another perspective on life, especially the people who really care about you, it really makes things clearer for you.
4. I recently did something really dumb financially (no it wasn't gambling!) and lost some money with a stupid mistake! When I realized that I had done this, I really stewed over it for a long time, until I remembered that there are people who are way, way, in worse shape than I ever have been. I know that this can be a cliche, but when you are thinking of yourself and your troubles, stopping to think about others who really have it bad can put things in perspective!
5. I'm with American Scot here: I think "pet therapy" can really help to bring one's positive vibes up! When I play with our dog for a while, it sure makes my mood better! We have funny looking dog that is half Pug, half Chihuahua, and maybe some Pekinese! (don't ask me how that came to be!) Maybe because she's so silly looking and cute, but anyway, our dog can help with the mood!
Hi friends of comedy and humor! Hope your weekend is or was great! Mine was ok but I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to install a drip irrigation system. That was a pain in the butt, but, (ha ha) now its done and there's just a little fine tuning to do with it. Today I am going to post some comedians, one or two Triumph clips, and some more of my comics-I know they're stupid, but hey, they're an expression of my artistic side right? Let me know what you think! Even if you think they are absolute garbage!
The first clip is from a comedienne who I really like. This may be a controversial statement because from what I have heard, you either love her, or hate her! Kathy Griffin! I guess I really like her. I like the way she tells her stories about her interactions with the rich and famous and screwed up people she meets. Her sense of humor is great! I have been watching her show, "My Life On the D-List" on the Bravo channel and I can't believe the language she gets away with without them bleeping her! She's one of those comediennes that can make crude language funny though, unlike some other comics.
I wonder what you all think of her. Let me know. In fact, let me know who you think is your favorite comedian/enne! I'll let you know right now, I was never a fan of Sam Kinnison. I just don't think yelling in people's faces and making fun of starving people in Africa was funny. I don't like the "blue collar comedy" guys either too much. Carlos Mencia is horrible, but Joe Rogan is too. I can't stand anybody who makes fun of those who are the most defenseless-the terminally ill, and people with special needs, especially. Let me know who you like as a standup comedian. Also let me know what you think about the comics strips I have "drawn."
Ok, ok, enough already! Where's the first clip!?
Kathy G talking about Mel Gibson, Barbara Walters etc.
Kathy on Ryan Seacrest and American Idol
Whitney Houston etc, etc.
Kevin James is a pretty darn funny guy on the "King of Queens" and he seems to be a pretty good standup comedian too!
As i had promised a while back- a few classic Triumph clips for your amusement. Triumph outside the Michael Jackson trial.
Triumph vs Star Wars geeks
Part 1:
Part 2:
With all the controversy regarding Ann Coulter recently, I couldn't help but add my two cents worth. (And another generic strip).
My apologies to The Animal Humane Society and other pet adoption agencies for this one! They do great work! This one just popped into my evil head so...well... its just a joke!
One of my favorite comic strips is Red Meat by Max Cannon-this comic has the raw(pardon the pun) dark kind of humor I really like! One of my favorite characters is Milkman Dan. Here he is doing what he does best! http://www.redmeat.com/redmeat/2005-11-08/index.html
Happy Saturday! Hope you all have had a great start to the weekend! For this week's posts, I would like to focus on Saturday Night Live. I just came across a fairly recent clip from the show, the "Penelope" skit, and thought it was pretty funny.(I am posting a link to both of the Penelope clips below) I, like many other people have lost interest in SNL over the years. I don't stay up to watch it anymore, even with a few bright spots like Will Ferrell and some of the female comics like Kristin Whig (who does the Penelope skits) Maya Rudolph, and Amy Poehler, that have seemed to invigorate the show in recent years. I remember as a teenager staying up late to watch the show and seeing Eddie Murphy, John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd, and John Belushi, etc. make me laugh my head off! I think part of the problem with the show in the later years, was that they would draw out some of these skits each week so that they were not funny after the 10th time. I hope they don't do more "Penelope" skits. That sketch isn't thick enough to draw out much more than 2 -3 times.
"Penelope" (*I updated this link-The others were taken down-I guess NBC is cracking down because of the copyright issues, so laugh while you can at this remaining "copy" http://www.planetvids.com/html/SNL-Penelope.html
I have always loved Robert Smigel's TV Funhouse animations: Here is one that parodies the Dora cartoons! (the humor is lost if you haven't sat down with your little ones when they are watching Dora) *(There might be an advertisement first) http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/93346/SNL_TV_Funhouse_Maraka.html
Speaking of Robert Smigel, i have been wanting to post some Triumph clips! Next time i post i will have some!
Here is the Riverdance Rap:
Man, its hard to believe that people were pitching cigarettes as healthy back in the day!
Hi everyone! Happy belated Father's Day! Hope all you fathers out there had a great day! It was a pretty good day-went out to eat and and then spent some time with my family. It was bittersweet because i lost my father almost exactly 2 years ago. He was a great person who taught me a whole lot and one of those things was to have a good sense of humor. If you can't laugh at least a little in this life, then you will be very unhappy. Here's some things to hopefully help you laugh a little. I came across this clip a little while back and i think to get the full effect of the humor in this, you had to have seen a (real) David Blaine clip. Check a "real" David Blaine clip out on You Tube and then check this one out!
I'll post Part 2 of this David Blane stuff next time! I've always liked this next comedian! Brian Regan is one of my favorite comedians! His head-bobbing delivery, complete with patented silly voices, and his great everyday life observations are some of the best comedy around!
This next and last clip has been around for a while in various incarnations. Pablo Francisco can be very funny! His sound effects alone are incredible! He has a large repertoire of voices that he uses to great comedic effect. Sorry for the subtitles in this clip if they are a little disconcerting, but this clip's overall quality is good and it seems that he has refined this bit about the movie preview guy well compared to older clips i have seen him doing this material in.
Here is another comic strip, kinda going along with the other one i made about the poetry slam idea. Guess I'm stuck on poems right now!
